Cash Genie can provide an emergency loan

The end of the month is that time that a great number of people regularly dread as they realise they still have payments to deal with before payday. This sense of dread has only been heightened recently, of course, by the current difficult financial climate in which it feels impossible to switch on the TV, listen to the radio, or open the newspaper without being overwhelmed by news of the credit crunch and tales of companies and individuals doing their utmost to tighten their belts. This is the case almost everywhere in the world, but Cash Genie is here to help in the UK by providing a national service to customers looking to borrow an affordable sum of money to help ease them through their cash flow stresses.

Payday loans issued by Cash Genie will be received via direct deposit, so if you need cash in an emergency, this company is an ideal one to choose. Indeed, the hassle-free loan structure operated in this instance means that the concerns you already have will not be added to and you will be able to put your extra cash to use instantly in the way most useful to you. These sorts of loans may not be what you want to rely on with any frequency, and companies like this one definitely would not recommend their customers using them over long periods of time; rather they are quick fixes which loans companies issue on the understanding they’ll be paid back as soon as possible. Loans companies put some level of trust in their customers then, based on the expectation that they are only using a loans service because of an emergency.

The above is all part and parcel of a reliable payday loans company’s commitment to responsible lending. Therefore, before a loans company decides to issue a payment, an assessment process will be used to make sure that borrowers have adequate ability to repay any sum of cash, from £75 to £750. There is no need for borrowers to panic about this assessment though, as it is non-invasive and most prospective borrowers see their demands for loans approved. Altogether, this assessment process shows that the loans company has your best interests at heart – the likes of Cash Genie are interested in getting their customers out of financial trouble, not in landing them in hot water.

Glass louvres may have financial benefits

If you work in a modern building then you probably have wide, expansive windows that give the room an airy, open feel and allow in plenty of sunlight. This has a number of advantages. For starters, you reduce lighting bills – and sunlight is far better than electric lights. It’s brighter, and the mixture of wavelengths is (by definition) more ‘natural’, meaning that staff generally feel better in the sun than under artificial lights. It also decreases heating bills. The problem comes when it’s summer, and the room can overheat. Then, you have a different issue, since you have to pay money you saved on heating on new air conditioning. Another solution is to retrofit a brise soleil, or glass louvres. External louvres can be an effective way of having the best of both worlds – allowing the sun to light your premises in the winter, but not overheating them in the summer.

There are a number of variants on the idea, and the particular version will depend on your circumstances – your climate, for starters, but also where your building is positioned and which way it faces. Some louvres are movable, and can be controlled from minute-to-minute to adapt to conditions on the day. Others are fixed, though these can still be highly effective. One of the most simple but helpful kinds is a ‘shelf’ which admits low-angle winter sun, or light at the start of the day when the sun is still low in the sky. In the summer, or the middle of the day, when the sun tends to be higher, the shelf blocks its light from the windows.

The brise soleil – French for ‘sun breaker’ – is a permanent sun barrier that can take a variety of forms. Sometimes it is no more than a horizontal surface projecting from the side of the building. On other occasions they are more complex, perhaps being slatted to admit a proportion of the sun, or only sun at certain times of day or year. These, along with glass louvres (which can be used in conjunction with a sun breaker), are helpful solutions to managing sunlight, which can result in large savings for your business. If this is something that your office finds an issue, then external louvres might be something to look into.

School clothes for parents who want to spend less

Paying lots of money for school uniforms can be a very frustrating experience for a parent.  It often seems that educational establishments select their school clothes with hardly any consideration of the actual effects on families who may need to buy a few uniforms at a time.  What’s more, when children are getting older they may only fit into each uniform for a few months, meaning that the poor parent is forced to go back to the expensive London schoolwear supplier rather frequently, often having to spend hundreds of pounds.  With this in mind, this article aims to give some suggestions for mums and dads who need to avoid paying so much for clothes for their children to wear to school.

Most parents fail to take advantage of the main resource at their disposal when their children start at a new school, namely the hundreds of other children, some of whom are very likely to have recently outgrown the uniform that your child needs.  If you can speak to some other parents before your child starts at the school, you might find that a fellow parent will hand over a set of uniform for very little money.  If you have problems identifying the right people, it is always worth contacting the school, as they often hold second hand sales at the start of the school year. Finding out about such a sale could save you hundreds of pounds, so it is usually worth a phone call!

It is often the case that a school specifies a certain school uniform provider, which tends to be on the pricey side.  While it can be tricky to avoid getting the key items from this provider, it is worth looking around to see if there are items that can be purchased from cheaper retailers.  For example, it makes little sense to buy generic shirts or blazers from the shop that sells the skirt your daughter requires from school, as you can get these items extremely cheaply from a supermarket or online.  Such stores sometimes take advantage of having lured you into their shop and charge you inflated prices for bits of uniform that are readily available elsewhere.

School uniforms can be an unavoidable necessity, but a bit of forward planning will help you ensure that your London schoolwear supplier is not charging you more than you should be spending.  With less money going on the school clothes that children usually resent anyway, you can afford to spend more on the things they love in life.

Kickboxing isn’€™t always as it appears in the films

Kickboxing – or other hitting and kicking-based martial arts – is something that most people will have come across in film at one time or another. Since Bruce Lee popularised kicking and shouting in the 1970s, there has been a rash of martial arts films, including some seminal classics like Karate Kid and some of Jackie Chan’s offerings. Jean-Claude Van Damme has perhaps done the most to raise the profile of kickboxing itself, in the film of that name. But the kickboxing London offers generally differs from what you will watch on the screen. A good kickboxing club will naturally teach you how to fight (or spar, as it is usually defined), but there’s far more to it than that. In addition, the ethos tends to be very different from the type of thing you will see in film. The torturous, Karate Kid-style of learning in the club depicted will certainly be absent (in the real world, that generally has insurance and legal implications…), although so will the mystical and arcane approach of Mr Miyagi.

What you can expect is a good workout and some strong teaching whilst having fun with a group of other people who also want to learn to kickbox. That’s not to say that it won’t be difficult work, but the best teachers will push you just far enough – out of your comfort zone, but not to the point of destruction (don’t expect to hear those chilling words, ‘Finish him!’ uttered for real). You’ll work on strength, agility, flexibility and speed as well as all-important punching, kicking, blocking and dodging techniques – as well as different self-defence moves in some cases. These may be drawn from kickboxing or possibly from another style – perhaps one that deals more with grappling, since a lot of attacks (strangles, grabs and so on) will happen close-to. (If you’re looking for a reference point, think more Steven Segal films than Bruce Lee.)

All of that makes kickboxing a great workout. Any given kickboxing club will have more or less of an emphasis on certain parts of that – some, for example, will major on competitive sparring, whereas others will look to teach you self-defence or have a focus on fitness. The great thing is that for kickboxing London has a vast number of classes, so you can look and ask around to find the one that suits you best – in terms of location, timing of sessions, and ethos. Check the web and ask friends for ideas.

Video conferencing has taken off in the business world, but is there a demand for this technology for personal use?

The uses of video conferencing in the business sector are well documented, as the need for many companies to communicate frequently with colleagues around the world grows increasingly in our modern day ‘global village’.  Telepresence video conferencing is so well developed that we can fairly accurately create the experience of a face to face conference with participants from Texas, Adelaide and Dublin all able to take part from the comfort of their own offices.  It seems odd, though, that audio visual conferencing seems to be struggling to take hold of the private communications market.  Although Skype is very popular for those who wish to communicate with friends and relatives abroad, there seems to be very little demand for mobile telephones which allow us to see the person we are speaking to.

In its early days, video phone technology was extremely costly, costing users about 90 dollars a month.  Currently, however, modern technology has reduced the costs to nominal.  Webcams and highly advanced smart phones mean that cost is no longer a factor in discouraging us from using video conferencing. In its early days, many people predicted that videotelephony would become widespread, but it is still used fairly marginally.

This may in part be because videophone calling tends to be a poor substitute for real face to face conversation.  The conversation tends to be focussed around a video screen and a small camera, and participants often look at the screen rather than the camera, which prevents them from having direct eye-to-eye contact with each other.  Some have suggested that videotelephony may be less popular than expected because people actually prefer less direct communication. Texting, instant messaging and email are much more popular than video calling, which suggests that written conversations which can be dealt with at one’s convenience is, for most people, preferable to recreating the experience of face-to-face conversations.  In addition, some people view video cameras as an intrusion.  ‘Why does my friend need to see what I am doing?’ ‘I don’t want to feel I have to look nice for a phone call,’ and ‘I don’t feel comfortable being watched’ are all common responses when people are asked about this kind of technology.

It does seem interesting that video conferencing has proved so popular and useful in business, but most of us are reluctant to embrace it on a daily basis. Perhaps telepresence video conferencing places too much pressure on us to be fully involved in a conversation, when actually we quite like to be able to do the gardening or cook dinner while chatting to our friends and family.  Audio visual conferencing does seem to be here to stay, though.  Perhaps we had better just get used to it.

Cash Genie takes a closer look at the numbers

It’s that time of year again: the annual Budget report. Cash Genie is well aware that this year hasn’t been an easy one for most of us, as it’s been full of bad news for just about everyone. Spending cuts, tax rises, and then, to top it off, a struggling economy and more worries from overseas. Whatever the changes are, it’s fair to assume that plenty of us are going to be worse off afterwards.
It was looking promising earlier this year, as the economy was predicted to be clawing its way back out of recession. That was before the snow took its toll on growth figures, and raised questions about what the immediate future held. The most recent cause for concern has been the cost of fuel, which will impact every house in the country; even the ones that don’t use a car will still rely on businesses and freight that is driven across the country. Aside from all the tax rises – fuel duty and VAT, with more expected shortly – there has also been the concern about the price of oil. Pushed up by conflict in North Africa and the Middle East, oil is reaching highs not seen for over two years, and – if Saudi suffers from the same kind of problems – could sky-rocket far higher than we’ve ever seen before.

What can households do to bring their costs down? Well, for starters, make sure your car is in good condition, with tyres pumped up and engine serviced. Drive conservatively – hold off sharp accelerating, high speeds and hard braking unless strictly necessary – and don’t change lanes on the motorway more than you need to. Plus, make sure any unnecessary weight is cleared out (how many of us have junk cluttering the boots of our cars?). Good driving habits and well-maintained cars can significantly reduce fuel consumption, and at somewhere between £50 and £80 a tank, that can all add up nicely.

Aside from that, Cash Genie suggests you start thinking about lift-sharing – there are plenty of sites out there dedicated to finding you a journey-mate if you don’t already have one in mind – and, of course, avoid journeys that you don’t need to take in the first place (plenty of health, financial and environmental benefits there). You might even like to think about working from home if you’re a regular commuter – even one day a week can make a substantial difference (the average daily commute being an hour), as well as giving you extra time to spend with friends and family – it’s win/win.

An internship is a good idea, but don’€™t leave it too late.

Graduate jobs are still in short supply, given the struggle the economy has had over the recent two or three years, and the difficulties it is still experiencing. Many young people and university students are finding it more trouble than ever before to find work, so if you’re going to be one of the prosperous ones, then you need to pull out all the stops. Graduate schemes are one method of learning the ropes and getting a foot in the door, although they’re not for everyone. An internship can serve a useful purpose, and not all of them need to last a full year or many months. There are plenty of opportunities around for university students during the shorter holidays – sometimes as short as two weeks, which can be a useful way of experiencing a company or organisation over Christmas or Easter, not to mention a welcome distraction from cramming for exams.

The economic figures are still looking pretty bad, with doubt whether the UK will slip back into recession – the predicted double-dip, which will undoubtedly further hit the job market. However, there are schemes out there, and the advantage of internships and other arrangements (to the employer, anyway) is that they tend to be short-term and low-paid. For the job-hunter, at least the first of those is useful, because it allows you to find out about a job without signing up for a long-term amount of time. The second, well, beggars can’t be choosers, and the poor pay (often only expenses, although some might pay pretty well) is something you can put up with if it’s not for long. The important message is to hunt around, cast your net wide, and do it early. Don’t hold off until the last minute, after your exams in the summer; if anything, go the other way, and try to line up as much as you can – after all, you can always turn a job down, but you can’t always get something at short notice.

One way to approach this is to take a day or a morning to apply for graduate jobs or to look for a graduate scheme or internship. Browse the ads – your university career service should have plenty, and there are job sites that will advertise plenty of other short-term and permanent opportunities – and apply a chunk of time to calling, emailing and writing to the different companies. That way, you’re likely to get at least one desired response – perhaps all you need to make all the difference for your next year.

Using bacs payments to maximise cost effectiveness and control in financial transactions

It is a typical issue in most modern organisations, however large and successful they are – keeping control over financial transactions can present real difficulties. In order to pass audits and ensure cost effectiveness, it is very important that businesses can make payments securely and track the payments they collect.  It is often the case that bacs software is the best way to facilitate this.  Processing payments electronically with bacs, or bankers’ automated clearing services, can optimise the security and efficiency of your transactions and save you valuable time and money. Taking under four working days to clear, bacs payments are a highly effective way of keeping on top of your firm’s finances.

Bacs software solutions can be created to meet to the needs of individual businesses, so they can improve the security and efficiency of each firm in the most appropriate way.  The systems cater for multiple divisions and operating procedures, which has the added benefit of giving finance officers the broad perspective that is very useful in assessing the company’s financial position and making good decisions.

The need to move data or information between applications has often proved a challenge for businesses, necessitating complex integration and highly skilled staff.  It should be a relief to the business world that this often troublesome process is no longer necessary.  Essentially, bacs empowers organisations globally to transfer data between banks and customers.  Invented  in 1968 as the Inter-Bank Computer Bureau, the system has gained many adherents as it has developed.  At the present time, the need for paper documents as part of the money transfer process seems largely outdated.  The benefits of this system go further than cost and time efficiency: getting rid of  paper documents frees up space in the workplace , allowing for more staff members or useful technology such as computers where filing cabinets might have been. With companies increasingly looking to improve their environmental credentials, minimising paper wastage is a great added bonus of digitising payment processes.

Clearly, bacs software exists to make our lives easier, and it just does not make sense not to take advantage of it. The savings in terms of time, money and space that can be made by introducing bacs to your workplace are so significant that it is surely worth the time that it takes retraining your staff to adapt to the change. Compared with traditional  payments, bacs payments are quicker, smoother and more hassle free than anything that has been used in the past.

Social work jobs are now child’s play to find

Although social work jobs can offer a huge amount of satisfaction, locating the right post can be incredibly stressful. Social services jobs are, by and large, offered by Local Authorities. We all know how differently they can be run with no two Authorities advertising for social worker jobs in the same place or in the same way.

Thankfully, two developments over the last few years have improved on this frustrating scenario. Firstly, many Local Authorities now use specialist recruitment agencies rather than just letting their own personnel departments advertise in the local or national press. With the bigger recruitment agencies covering dozens of Local Authorities (Sanctuary Personnel, for instance, the largest player in the field, is on contract with over 150 local authorities as well as recruiting for several other key public service bodies), your chances of locating social work jobs in almost any part of the country are vastly increased. Add to this the convenience of the internet, and you have a far more satisfactory situation. Almost every recruitment agency will now have an on-line search function, making it child’s play to find social services jobs precisely tailored to your own level of experience and areas of interest.

These two developments can obviously be a boon to personnel departments as well, eager to find the right people for the right positions. The high turnover rates in social worker jobs are well-known as pressures can be high so recruitment can be a major and ongoing challenge, particularly in more challenging areas of social work or in particularly deprived areas. However, there will always be people willing (or maybe obliged) to relocate and national agencies make advertising out of area much easier and more economical. Once it comes to higher level positions, looking further afield in order to find the right talent is almost always a necessity and many agencies will include posts right up to the level of Senior Executive level, sometimes even for national organisations.

Another improvement to recruitment in this field has been in the speed of response. social work jobs often need to be filled very quickly and, with on-line queries and form submission now being the norm, the turnaround time is vastly improved with far less work for either the recruitment agency or personnel department.  It is also easier to share information on the organisation and the social services jobs available using the internet as each time an envelope has to travel through the postal service, another few days is added to the process. Social worker jobs can still present their own unique challenges, but at least the recruitment process itself is becoming a lot less painful for all concerned.

Instant loan approval – nicer than a loan shark!

If you’re hunting for a cash advance to tide you over immediate cash difficulties, there won’t be many questions you need to ask. You’ll want to establish that your short term loan is granted on the best rates available, since these companies can typically be pretty costly. 30 percent for the month is usual – an amount which can stack up over the year to massive rates, which is why they only provide the loan for a limited period (typically a month) in the first place. Secondly, you’ll need to be sure that they are as ethical as possible in their business: you don’t want to be saddled with the online equivalent of a doorstep loan shark. Fortunately, the nature of the business and the law around it should mean that everything is fairly clear on the website. If it’s not, find another firm. Lastly, instant loan approval should be just that: instant. If you have to wait around to get your money, the lender has missed the point.

These companies are typically quite expensive (30 percent per month is a rate that no credit card could ever dare to ask). But they fill a different gap in the market. These are definitely not long-term loans. They are instant sums of money to see to a short term need. Expressed as a percentage – particularly annualised – these lenders are not economical. However, as a straight fee for the use of the money in that time, it might be a very different story. The only question you need to ask is, are the consequences of not taking out the money more expensive than the fees? It’s simple economics.

Of course, if you can find the money more cheaply elsewhere, you’re much better off doing that. But if you don’t have access to an overdraft, family to lend you the cash, or even a credit card, then you may have come to the end of the road. The next stop is the loan shark, and that’s a decision no one should have to contemplate. Cash advance companies on the web should be able to offer you a short-term loan with none of the problems to your kneecaps associated with doorstep lenders. instant loan approval is subject to a swift (literally almost instant – think 30 second) online credit check, and they are (or ought to be – check) bound by a professional code of ethics that ensures they won’t provide money to anyone who is unable to be able to pay them back. It makes sense – defaulting on the debt doesn’t do the company any favours either.
